1. Are you going too far and wide?

If you focus on getting into too many places, you will get overwhelmed and miss a trick. Start with learning one place well enough.

2. Have you researched the publication / or journalist you are pitching to?

When pitching, Google is your best friend; most publications and journalists have put in the public domain exactly how they want to be pitched.

3. Have you asked ChatGPT for pitching suggestions?

If you tell ChatGPT about the publication and article you are trying to pitch, it will give you suggestions of topics you need to include.

4. Are you trying a one-size-fits-all?

If you take one thing away, remember this. One-size-fits-no-one. Your pitch should be tweaked for each publication.
