One of my most popular Instagram posts of all time was (sadly) about copying.

Sometimes there can be a lot of paranoia around copycat behaviour. You can feel like something was your idea first, a phrase, a concept talk title or a programme name, when it can just be a coincidence.

There are also those who are inspired by you and want to be like you so follow where you go, who you work with, and where you talk and replicate it for themselves.

These are different from the really nasty ones who are totally out to sabotage you and completely rip off everything from concept wording and audience.

Regardless of the level of perceived copying, dealing with copyitis can be an energy-draining negative vortex if you are not careful.

You can read all the advice, but it doesn’t make you feel any better when you open up social media and see the copycats in your space.

Here are some practical steps you can take.
