300 book reviews on Amazon in 3 years and 3 months
Here are some ways to get your reviews up
Full disclosure. My non-fiction book Hype Yourself was birthed on January 9th 2020. It’s taken me 3-years to hit over 300 reviews. To put it into perspective, I’ve had over 7,000 sales. That means that less than 5% of my purchasers are reviewing. This excludes any private sales I’ve made from the stock I sell via my website or in-person events.
I’ve no idea if that is above or below average in terms of the number of reviews. And I don’t pretend to have a magic secret for overnight review engineering. However, here are a few ways that I continue to try and develop reviews nearly 3 years and 3-months after launch.
Celebrate review milestones
Just like the header image in this article. I mock up fun or quirky images to celebrate the key milestones. It is in keeping with one of my brand values of being ‘fun’. It is a gentle reminder to people that my book still exists for people to buy, and I often receive comments in response from people who feel reminded to go and buy after seeing the reminders.
